Building on 10 years of experience in conducting analyses on most Affymetrix® arrays, AROS now offers gene expression analysis using the new Affymetrix GeneChip® HT Human Genome U219 Array Plate (U219), with 3’ IVT labeling or amplification with NuGEN’s Ovation™ PICO SL WTA System followed by labeling with the Encore™ Biotin Module.

The U219 Array Plate enables high-throughput expression profiling of 96 samples at a time using probe sets with an emphasis on established, well-annotated content selected from the UniGene database build 219.

With complete coverage of the annotated genome (36,000 transcripts and variants per sample (>530,000 probes), and with 11 probes per set for well-annotated sequences, and 9 probes per set for the remainder, it provides high accuracy and confidence.

The U219 Array Plate is suitable for most human genome expression projects, and thus also for expression Quantitative Trait Locus (eQTL) analysis to identify the regulatory impact of SNPs on the expression of distant genes; this is important, as up to 50% of SNPs identified as associated with diseases are in regions of the genome that do not contain known genes. The QTL´s for gene regulation are strong, and as little as 100 patients may be sufficient to achieve significant association results (Nature 2003, March, 20; 422 (6929): 297-302).

With NuGEN’s Ovation PICO SL WTA System you can amplify cDNA from a range of 500 picograms to 50 nanograms of total RNA; the cDNA is thereafter fragmented and labeled using the Encore™ Biotin Module.

During July and August, AROS offers human genome expression analysis using the U219 Array Plate at € 299 per sample with Affymetrix 3’ IVT labeling, and only € 289 per sample with labeling using NuGEN’s Ovation™ PICO SL WTA System.
